The Boys Basketball Program is encouraging ALL student-athletes to make 3,000 free throws before the first official practice date in November.  The measure of this task is to set the culture of commitment in the program.  I want student-athletes to see and understand how hard work can pay off when no one is looking.

Coach Marrs' Bio:

Ryan Marrs is a 2004 graduate of the University of Oregon.  Born and raised in the Rogue Valley, Ryan moved back following his college graduation to serve his community as a youth drug/alcohol counselor, interventionist for at risk teens and gang members, and was a case manager for Hearts with a Mission. Ryan was a pillar of leadership in his community and moved his family to the Eagle Point area five years ago where he quickly immersed himself in the community working in the school district. Ryan is the 9th grade graduation coach at Eagle Point high school.

Ryan is entering his fifth year as a coach in the boys basketball program; his first three years he was the freshmen head coach, and last year he was promoted to full time assistant coach with the varsity program. This past spring, Ryan fulfilled a lifelong dream and was named the Head Varsity Basketball Coach for the boys program. In addition to his time at the high school level, Ryan has coached for Upper Rogue Youth Basketball the past three seasons, and has served as vice president on the organizations board. Ryan has eighteen years of experience coaching basketball. He used this time to coach and develop youth at all levels. Ryan is focused on rebuilding the basketball program from the high school level all the way down to the youth level using his leadership, relationships in the community, and desire to teach the game he loves.

Ryan lives in  Eagle Point with his wife Heather and their two children, Jordan and Madalyn.  He enjoys hunting, camping, and serving as the youth ministry leader in his church when he’s not on the basketball court.
